Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Makes Significant Real Estate Investments in Delhi

Deepinder Goyal, the CEO and co-founder of Zomato, has reportedly acquired two parcels of land in Delhi's Mehrauli area for a total investment of Rs 79 crore. The first purchase, completed in March 2023, involved a 2.5-acre plot bought from Luxalon Building Pvt Ltd for Rs 29 crore. The second transaction, in September 2023, saw Goyal acquiring a 2.53-acre plot for Rs 50 crore from an individual named Ravi Kapur. Together, these purchases cover approximately 5 acres of land and incurred a combined stamp duty of Rs 5.24 crore. The properties are situated in the village Dera Mandi within the Chhatarpur area, according to a report from ET.



A brief overview of Goyal's background reveals that he is an alumnus of IIT Delhi with a degree in Mathematics and Computing. He began his entrepreneurial journey by founding Foodiebay in 2008, later rebranded as Zomato in 2010. Before this venture, Goyal worked at Bain & Company as a Senior Associate Consultant. Zomato, under his leadership, currently boasts a market capitalization of over Rs 1.23 lakh crore.
