Hyderabad Gaming Startup Liquidnitro Secures $5.25 Million in Seed Funding

Updated: Mar 26

Hyderabad-based gaming company Liquidnitro Games has secured $5.25 million in a seed funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners. Angel investors from the US, Canada, the EU, and India also participated in the round. Liquidnitro plans to use the funding to establish a state-of-the-art game development studio and invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies. This will allow them to improve their game production pipelines and expand their live services capabilities.

The company's focus is on creating engaging and enjoyable gaming experiences for players worldwide by leveraging data, AI, and technology-driven insights.

Founded in December 2023 by a team of veterans from Electronic Arts (EA), Liquidnitro brings a wealth of experience to the table. Sandeep Kowdley, Krishna Dhanekula, Arun Kunchala, and Suresh Manthena have all worked on iconic gaming titles and franchises like Bejeweled, Tetris, Plants vs Zombies, Need for Speed, Real Racing, and The Sims.

"Data-driven insights are crucial for understanding today's diverse gaming audience, especially with the mobile gaming market reaching over 3 billion players globally," said Kowdley. "We believe passionate teams are key to transforming these insights into engaging experiences. Long-term success in live services hinges on constant creative evolution, not just a few major updates."

"India's immense talent pool offers a strategic advantage," said Sameer Brij Verma of Nexus Venture Partners. "Liquidnitro's unique model positions them to pioneer geo-adapted production and live services, unlocking significant value for global publishers. We believe they have the potential to revolutionize the games industry by driving growth, innovation, and tapping into new and diverse markets worldwide."
