Aroa Venture Partners Unveils $50 Million Fund

Aroa Venture Partners, a venture capital firm, has introduced a new fund with an ambitious target corpus of Rs 400 crore, equivalent to approximately $50 million.


Known as the Aroa Opportunities Fund, this venture has been registered as a category II alternative investment fund (AIF) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) since October 2022. Impressively, the fund has already garnered in-principle commitments exceeding the targeted Rs 400 crore.

With a strategic vision, Aroa Venture Partners intends to allocate investments ranging from Rs 4 crore to Rs 40 crore across 20 to 25 startups using the resources from the new fund. Furthermore, the fund has allocated an additional Rs 400 crore as a greenshoe option, demonstrating its confidence in the potential of its investment opportunities.


Established in 2020 by Gaurav Gulati, Aroa Venture Partners specializes in supporting early to growth-stage businesses spanning various sectors. Notably, Ritesh Agarwal, the founder and CEO of Oyo, serves as the sole limited partner of the firm.


In parallel developments within the venture capital landscape, Endiya Partners, renowned for backing successful ventures including Darwinbox, Cult.fit, Kissht, and others, recently disclosed its plans to introduce its third fund. This forthcoming fund is anticipated to have a corpus ranging between Rs 800 crore and Rs 1,000 crore, further indicating the growing momentum within India's startup ecosystem.


The unveiling of Aroa Venture Partners' $50 million fund underscores the firm's commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in India. As startups continue to emerge and thrive across various sectors, venture capital firms play a pivotal role in fueling their growth trajectory and driving economic progress.
